Automatic knowledge backups: versions and recovery
Every save on the Knowledge & persona page — editing a field, changing the persona, applying a vertical preset, changing hours, or importing from your website — is automatically saved as its own version, with nothing for you to do.
Where to see it and restore it
On Knowledge & persona → History you'll find the last 10 saved versions: when each was saved, who saved it, where the change came from (knowledge edit · persona · hours · import · vertical preset), and which fields it touched.
- Compare — opens a side-by-side view, field by field: what's there today (left) against what that version had (right).
- Restore — one button, with a confirmation. Nothing is lost: the state you're restoring from is itself saved as a new version the moment you restore, so you can always restore back if you change your mind.
A version is saved only when something actually changed from the previous one — saving without changes doesn't create an extra copy, and a business that hasn't saved anything yet simply sees that there's no history so far.
Only the last 10 versions are kept — anything older drops off the list and can't be restored on your own. In that case, contact support with your business name and roughly when the wording was still correct; sometimes we can help even beyond those 10.
Practical tip: after a big edit — especially a re-import from your website, which overwrites whole fields — it's worth opening "Compare" to confirm the change is exactly what you wanted, before the assistant starts using it.
